Luminescent MD has made a groundbreaking achievement with the introduction of the All-in-One immunoassay (see Fig. 1), which has significant advantages over conventional immunoassays. Unlike the competitive immunoassay and the sandwich immunoassay, as illustrated in Figs. 2 and 3, the All-in-One immunoassay eliminates the need for time-consuming and tedious washing procedures and long incubation periods.
Moreover, the All-in-One immunoassay offers superior sensitivity as the products formed during the immunoreaction are in a solution phase. In contrast, conventional immunoassays immobilize the reaction products on the surface of a solid substrate, thereby limiting their interaction with detection reagents. As a result, the products in the All-in-One immunoassay readily and quickly react with chemiluminescent (CL) reagents, producing bright light emissions. On the other hand, products in the conventional immunoassays react less efficiently with CL reagents and generate relatively dim light. These advantages make the All-in-One immunoassay a promising tool for research and diagnostic testing. However, further studies are needed to assess its specificity, limitations, and potential applications.

The All-in-One immunoassay offers a considerably simplified testing procedure and significantly shorter testing time compared to both sandwich and competitive immunoassays, as demonstrated in Vid. 1.
